I have a passion for glass and began
working in this medium in 1981 while living in the Chicago area. My husband
John and I were there for over 30 years and I created many unique glass
window pieces for residential and commercial installations.
After attending the Pilchuck Glass
School (founded by Dale Chihuly) in 1985 I began to apply these techniques to my work, creating unique wall pieces consisting of intricately cut
glass arranged in abstract patterns incorporating various materials including Brazilian agates. Each
creation is then completed with layered matting and framing done by John.
I have also
developed two lines of custom jewelry,
one using dichroic glass and the other using Swarovski crystal. I
design and craft each piece. The pendants are hand wrapped by me in 14K
Gold Filled or Argentium Sterling (virtually non-tarnishing) wire.
For my newest creation, I combined my love of painting with my passion for glass and created a new, very unique, design.
I have combined the elegance of fused glass with the traditional
painted canvas. I mount fused glass on painted canvas and then frame
them. This work is truly spectacular and must be seen to be
appreciated.
All of my work is one-of-a-kind and is inspired by the
beauty of God's creation. I try to incorporate the varied colors and
textures of what I see in both my glass work and my acrylic paintings. I love what I do!
