Judy incorporates texture into her acrylic paintings in the form of paper, acrylic gels and pastes and dichroic glass. Each painting begins by texturing the canvas with many of the above listed items. This process takes many days because each layer must dry before the next layer is added. The textured layers are totally white after they dry. When the texturing is complete, Judy then begins to paint with acrylic paints. This process also takes many days. Sometimes Judy blends colors, and other times she layers them to achieve the desired effect. The last step is gold leafing, which is found on some, but not all, of her paintings. Judy will often wake up in the middle of the night to add that one final, perfect, touch that completes the painting. Click on any image below for a larger size view of the work and the price.
